Traveling is like flirting with life. It’s like saying, ‘I would stay and love you, but I have to go; this is my station.’

Lessons Learned

1) Large cities are horrendous. I say this as I'm leaving Viet Nam in 2 days for an even larger Asian city, Beijing. I've decided this journey is to make me completely dislike living in large cities and really appreciate calm and serenity when I start medical school. I cannot wait to breathe clean air again that is not polluted with millions of motorbikes, buses, and cars. My contact lenses are so dirty that I can't see clearly with them anymore.

2) I have learned the ups and downs of international work. Well actually I've learned the ups and downs of working in general. So now I'm ready to go back to school.

3) I actually gave someone directions yesterday while sitting on the back of my friend's motorbike. She was cracking up that the Vietnamese American who can't even read the names of the streets properly was giving someone directions. In my defense, I've memorized the #18 Bus Route so I do know a few streets.

4) I will never take for granted a bathtub/shower enclosure ever again, a kitchen with counter space, basically anything Western again.

5) I love the food in Asia and I love traveling in Asia but living in Asia, my decision is to defer the later option.

6) Nobody can replace your family and friends from back home. I miss you guys.
